EBSCO Points of View Reference Center
EBSCO is a full-text database designed to provide students with a series of essays that present multiple sides of a current issue. Great for persuasive papers.
 
 EBSCOhost Research   MAS Ultra provides students 500 magazines, 360 full-text reference books, 805,000 biographies, 107,000 primary documents and an extensive image collection.  Looking for information  regarding environmental issues, use EBSCO Greenfile.
 
Student Research Center  Through the Student Research Center, users can easily pre-determine which content sources (e.g. Magazines, Newspapers, Biographies, Country Reports, Film & Video) will be included with their search. They can also search their databases by topic heading, make use of an online dictionary and encyclopedia, and explore the top searches of the day. Teacher Resources tab includes the ERIC database often used in graduate studies.
 
Gale Virtual Reference Library
Gale Virtual Reference Library is a database of encyclopedias and specialized reference sources for multidisciplinary research. These reference materials once were accessible only in the library, but now you can access them online from the library or remotely 24/7. Because each library creates its own eBook collection, the content you see may vary if you use the database at different libraries (your school, your public library, or your office).

Allows in-depth investigations of today's top issues.
 

Maps101 is a wonderful resource for most subjects especially history, geography, earth science, and economics.  It is also a good source for current events.

netTrekker provides over 180,000 teacher-selected web pages as well as current events, timelines, clip art, etc.
  
 
TEL (Tennessee Electronic Library)
TEL now has the online World Book Encyclopedia as part of its features as well as now provides access to Nashville’s paper, The Tennessean. 
TN Electronic Library
 Infotrac allows access to 30 unique databases—many cross-searchable
 
NewsBank - Full-text content of Chattanooga Times-Free Press, The Commercial Appeal (Memphis) and Knoxville News-Sentinel) andaccess to many popular news magazines that are searchable for full-text articles.
 
Learning Express Library
This database offers practice tests and tutorial course series designed to help you succeed on a variety of tests—AP exams, ACT, SAT, professional exams and much more. You will need to create your own username and password the first time you use this database, so it can keep track of any tests you may take. This database is part of the Tennessee Electronic Library.
 
Science Fair Project Resource Guide    
The Internet Public Library has created a Science Fair Project Resource Guide with information and links to other resources. Sections include Getting Started, Choosing a Topic, Completing the Project, and Displaying Your Project.
