The Elementary School Counselor assists parents and teachers in helping children, conducts classroom guidance activities, provides individual and small group counseling, and consults with outside agencies.  A child may see the Counselor for friendship problems, school problems, family concerns, death or serious illness of friend or family member, or any other area of concern.

Elementary Small Groups offered:

  • Banana Splits (divorce)
  • Friendship/Bullying
  • Anger Management
  • Kids Count (cancer of family member)
  • Grief Busters

 

Classroom guidance lessons/activities:

Friendship/bullying, character traits, community service projects

The primary goal of the Counseling Department at Boyd-Buchanan School is to help encourage both students and parents to be actively involved in considering appropriate yet challenging college preparatory educational options and preparing for their future. Some of the services include: College Advisement; Academic Advisement; Career Counseling; Scholarship and Financial Aid; Personal and Social Counseling.
